Feeling intrigued by the packaging, rubber mask, and freebies from Sephora Singapore, I’ve decided to give this a try. There are a lot of mixed reviews on this mask as this mask doesn’t’ come at a cheaper price tag. With only an ampoule and 1 rubber mask this cost S$21 each which other conventional sheet masks would have given you 50 to 100pcs for such prices.

I think they have reformulated and repackaged their Cryo Rubber collection, previously the ampoule came in a small tube, and now it’s in a form of a sachet.

The mask is not flimsy as what others claimed in the previous version as it’s not easily torn and quite firm.

This is a 2-Step intensive brightening kit by using cryotherapy technology. Those who are not familiar, it’s a treatment that lowers the skin’s temperature to increase blood flow and absorption of powerful active ingredients for a radiant, healthy-looking complexion. The texture of the highly concentrated ampoule is a white gel-like serum and there is no significant scent to it. While the color and texture of the mask is an exact resemblance of a slice cheese only it’s firmer. Many complaints that the previous version has an unpleasant latex smell but I don’t find any scent from this at all.

How do I reap the full benefit of the mask is by making sure my skin is properly prep for the masking session. It’s also recommenced by Dr.Jart+ in such a way but I’ve customized and integrated it to my routine. Before using, I’ve chilled both ampoule and mask in the refrigerator for 30 minutes. I leave the mask for 40 minutes and then using the Dr.Jart+ Liftra Tools to massage my face, neck, and decollete area while watching Netflix.

As compared with the original routine suggested by Dr.Jart+, I’ve tweaked by not using any cream at the end of the masking and I only ended it with my holy grail OBK Melanoshot White Brightening Serum which also has a moisturizer consistency.

The ampoule contains Vitamin C 0.1% which able to dissolves excess pigmented dead skin cells and brightens the skin. The ever-famous Niacinimade helps balances melanin production and evens tone. Also, contain Prebiotics Complex to assist in skin-conditioning.

The rubber mask is made of naturally-derived algae and Kaolin Clay. This clay is well known for its absorbent properties that can absorb excess oil and sebum which can help to reduce shine. It can also draw out oil, dirt, and other impurities from the pores. The mask is also infused with Sea Buckthorn Fruit Extract which helps brightens the skin by promoting the composition of Vitamin C.

By using this Dr.Jart+ claims that it can instantly cool down, even skin tone, and brightens the complexion. Some claimed that they don’t feel the cryotherapy, which I think mainly due to you must chill the product first, a similar concept to any cryotherapy product/tools which you must chill them before using to make sure their efficacy. This is because cryo treatment is a cooling technology that decreases the skin’s temperature to help increase blood circulation for the absorption of ingredients deeper into the skin. The hydrating rubber mask wraps the skin to prevent active ingredients from evaporating, allowing for more complete penetration.

After the masking, you can instantly see skin tone are more even, no more dullness and most importantly skin brightens. I’m quite satisfied with the instant result so I’ve decided to give my full judgment after I wake up tomorrow morning since I’m using it right before bedtime. To my surprise, the effect last quite long as my friend even complimented my skin condition the next day. Do note that I didn’t use any cream/moisturizer or my favorite Sulwhasoo Overnight Vitalizing Mask which I usually do to make sure the potency of the Dr.Jart+ Cryo Mask treatment. Even my skin is not oily at all which is another surprise.

Overall I’m very satisfied with this product. The only downside would be the price point and it’s also a one-time use product which is quite costly.

I won’t use it regularly due to the price tag and only use it as when I need intensive treatment. Or get it when there’s a good deal which I’ve gotten mine from Sephora Singapore. I’ve gotten Dr.Jart Liftra Contour Shaper with the purchase of any 2 Cryo Rubber Mask.
